Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 09/03/2026
Last Updated: 09/03/2026

Healthy Habits Coaching (“Healthy Habits Coaching,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect when you visit our website, contact us, submit a form, schedule or participate in nutrition-coaching services, subscribe to communications, or otherwise interact with Healthy Habits Coaching; how we may use and disclose that information; and the choices that may be available to you.

By using this website or voluntarily providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. About Healthy Habits Coaching

Healthy Habits Coaching provides nutrition education, behavioral coaching and wellness-oriented nutrition services.

Healthy Habits Coaching is operated by:

Ori Scott, M.Sc. Nutrition
Registered Dietitian (Israel)
Nutrition Coach and Founder, Healthy Habits Coaching

The designation “Registered Dietitian (Israel)” refers to the author's professional credential in Israel and should not be interpreted as representing New York State certification or licensure.

Healthy Habits Coaching does not represent itself as providing medical diagnosis, emergency medical care, or services outside the professional and legal scope applicable to the services being provided.

New York State separately regulates use of the titles “Certified Dietitian,” “Certified Nutritionist,” and “Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist.”

2. Information We May Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use our website and services.

Information You Provide Directly

We may collect information such as your name, email address, telephone number, appointment information, communications with us, and other information that you voluntarily provide.

If you participate in nutrition-coaching services, you may voluntarily provide information relating to your nutrition and wellness, including dietary history, food preferences, physical activity, weight history, health goals, medical conditions, medications, supplements, laboratory information, allergies or other health-related information relevant to the services you request.

Please do not submit sensitive health information through ordinary email, website contact forms, text messages, or other communication channels unless we have specifically identified that method as appropriate for that information.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the website, certain information may be collected automatically through Wix and other technologies used on the site. Depending on the site's configuration, this may include information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, referring pages, pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, date and time of access, and information about interactions with the website.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information for legitimate business and service purposes, including to provide and administer nutrition-coaching services; respond to inquiries; schedule and manage appointments; communicate about services; personalize educational or coaching interactions; maintain business and service records; operate, maintain and improve the website; understand website usage; protect the security and integrity of our website and business; prevent misuse or fraud; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We will not use health-related information for unrelated advertising purposes without appropriate authorization or consent where required by applicable law.

4. Nutrition and Health Information

Some information voluntarily provided in connection with nutrition coaching may constitute sensitive or health-related information.

We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary for the services requested and to handle such information with appropriate care.

Healthy Habits Coaching should not automatically be assumed to be a HIPAA-covered healthcare provider merely because health-related information is collected. Whether HIPAA applies depends on the nature of the entity, services and transactions involved. Other federal and state privacy, consumer-protection, security and breach-notification requirements may nevertheless apply to health-related information.

This Privacy Policy does not constitute a representation that every communication method available through the website is appropriate for transmitting protected or sensitive health information.

5. How We May Share Information

We do not sell personal health information.

We may disclose personal information when reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide requested services, including to service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as website hosting, scheduling, communications, payment processing, data storage or other business-support services.

Our website is hosted using Wix. Wix and applications or integrations used with Wix may process information in accordance with their respective terms and privacy practices.

Where appropriate and permitted by law, information may also be disclosed to a healthcare professional or other person at your direction or with your consent.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, court order or other valid legal process; protect our legal rights; investigate suspected fraud or misuse; or protect the safety and security of individuals or our services.

We do not promise that information will never be disclosed where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.

6. Service Providers and Third-Party Platforms

Healthy Habits Coaching may use third-party providers to operate aspects of the website and business.

Depending on the services enabled on the website, these may include Wix and providers used for scheduling, video conferencing, payment processing, email communications, analytics or other functions.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.

Before using third-party services to collect or transmit sensitive health information, Healthy Habits Coaching evaluates whether the service is appropriate for the intended purpose.

7. Cookies, Analytics and Tracking Technologies

This website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary for website functionality, security, user preferences, analytics and other purposes.

Depending on the website configuration, third-party services may also place or access cookies or similar technologies.

Where required by applicable law, visitors will be provided with choices regarding non-essential cookies.

You may also be able to control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

Wix provides privacy and cookie-management tools that can be configured to allow visitors to accept or decline non-essential cookies.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

However, no website, email system, electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

New York's SHIELD Act also requires businesses maintaining covered private information to maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, to provide requested services, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy applicable legal, tax, accounting or regulatory requirements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, de-identify or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal obligations.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you reside and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include requesting access to information we maintain about you, requesting correction of inaccurate information, requesting deletion where legally available, withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent, or requesting additional information regarding how your personal information is used or disclosed.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exceptions or record-retention requirements.

To make a privacy request, contact:

orialexscott@gmail.com

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

11. Email and Marketing Communications

If you voluntarily subscribe to newsletters or promotional communications, we may use your contact information to send those communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the message or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not necessarily prevent us from sending non-promotional communications necessary to provide services you requested.

12. Children's Privacy

Healthy Habits Coaching's website and coaching services are intended for adults age 18 and older, unless a separate service expressly states otherwise and appropriate parental or guardian arrangements have been established.

We do not knowingly solicit personal or health information through this website from children under 18 for adult coaching services.

If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so that we can evaluate the situation and take appropriate action.

13. Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties.

Healthy Habits Coaching does not control the privacy, security or content practices of independent third-party websites. Visiting those websites is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

14. International and Out-of-State Visitors

Healthy Habits Coaching is based in the United States and may use service providers that process or store information in the United States or other jurisdictions.

If you access the website from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to or processed in jurisdictions whose privacy laws differ from those in your location.

Where applicable law requires additional protections for international transfers or processing, appropriate measures will be used as required.

15. European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Similar Privacy Rights

If laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply to our processing of your information, the applicable legal basis may include consent, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests, depending on the particular processing activity.

Because health information may receive heightened protection under these laws, additional consent or another legally permitted basis may be required for particular processing activities.

Applicable residents may also have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent and complaints to the relevant supervisory authority.

16. Data Breaches and Security Incidents

If we become aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and take reasonable responsive measures.

Where applicable law requires notification to affected individuals, government authorities or others, we will provide notification in accordance with applicable requirements.

Certain businesses handling electronic health information outside HIPAA may be subject to the Federal Trade Commission's Health Breach Notification Rule. The FTC's updated rule expressly addresses certain health apps and similar technologies and may require notification following certain unauthorized disclosures or breaches.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services, website practices, technology or applicable requirements.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.

Material changes may be communicated through additional notice where appropriate or legally required.

Your continued use of the website after an updated policy becomes effective is subject to the revised policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
